Located just west of Stanton, this large steel trestle bridge crosses the Tarkio River.
Built in 1903 during a line relocation, this bridge features a number of deck girder spans, set onto steel towers with concrete bases. In addition, the two end girders have been braced with helper bents underneath, constructed of timber, steel and concrete.
Unfortunately, the addition of a helper bent to this bridge indicates that this bridge is reaching the end of its lifespan. This is one of several large deck girder bridges like this along this route.
No plaque can be found on this bridge, so the contractor is unknown for this span.
Overall, the bridge appears to be in fair to poor condition, with deterioration noted almost everywhere on the bridge.
